You ran your new pump dry, put Asian PS fluid in it and want to know if it"s safe to use for two days??? :lmao: The question should be ***how much damage did I do by running it dry?***

Prestone makes a Honda/Acura fluid sold at Walmart $2.98 a bottle. Nothing wrong with using the Prestone Asian formula (it is a full syn. where as Honda P.S. fluid is a semi syn.). I have always used a (Honda) compatible PS fluid & never had a problem. I change PS fluid every 25-30K. As Drew stated, concern would be running the pump dry. If you ever go to a mechanic for a PS flush make sure the cleaning agent they use contains a lubricating oil.

Walmart has Prestone Honda fluid for $2 per bottle. When it didn"t have the Honda specific fluid, I ran the Asian version for a short while...nothing wrong with it, but freaking expensive.

" Why drive all the way to AZ for fluid? You can get fluid in each and every state. "when i started hearing the noise , the autozone was the closest thing to me about 4 blocks so i drove straight there .thats how i was able to inspect my vehicle.the p/s pump makes a squeaking sound when i turn the car on in the morning , the noise goes away after about 4 minutes.if the car completely cools down the noise comes again when i start it uns , then goes away while im driving

There are vids on YouTube saying 2003-2007 Accords make a power steering whine that goes away when the car warms up because that o-ring is bad. You said you put it back after you found it, but maybe you really have to replace
it. Shouldn"t be expensive so maybe you should try that before doing anything else, and potentially expensive, like a new PS pump. :wink

Anything will "work" in the tranny....but will just any old fluid work poorly and destroy it? Sure! Maybe?
