You are watching: 2005 nissan altima oil filter location

Ok. I did a search, but got tired of trying to find it, so I"m sorry if this has been asked before. I have an 03 Spec-V, and I am doing my first oil change this weekend, and I want to know how easy, or hard it is to change the filter. I haven"t really looked for it yet, so I"m not even sure where it"s located. I"ve had some pretty tough ones on my past cars. Any info would be appreciated.
I have an SE so I cannot help, but I hear the filter is very easy to change on the QR25DE. You will likely have to access it from underneath the car (should be in plain view) or possibly from the top as in my NX2000. You do have an owners manual don"t you. Look in there..
Quite easy...your oil filter is located on the passenger side of the engine. Jack up your car remove the left wheel and take of the black plastic...it will reveal your oil filter.

You don"t need to remove the wheel, but if you don"t know where it is, it"s easier that way...If you have an SR20, yeah you can see if from the engine bay, but not the QR or the QG. I have to say that the QG guys got screwed on this one.
I appreciate all the help. I had heard before something about the plastic cover, I didn"t know what they meant. Doesn"t sound to bad. I"ve definatly had worse. Thanks again!!!
Either way its easy to remove and put back on. Just don"t yank on anything under there and you"ll be ok. And I recommend using a new copper ring gasket for the oil drain plug everytime you change your oil. I mean, for like what, under a buck every 3k miles or 3 months, what could that one dollar hurt ya know? : )
